BASF Elastolan
The M-Class is the first to have the new BASF Elastolan flat cable in the headliner.

BÄrd/rubensans/ansan.....
Hi,
Dearest Mercedesfahrer Wolfgang - you must be tired. "rubensans" is not BÄrd - but BÄrd is indeed "ansan".
And as far as these flat cables go - I hope they are reliable.
Cheers to Northern CA,
Birger

RE: BASF Elastolan
I'm in Spain.
I was asking about good news because I used a similar product in electronics like laptops and Marine telematics with a bad result.
I suppose they have improved a lot the material.
Best Regards.

what does "BÄrd" means?
Nothing particular, I think, it's just
Ansan 's first "real-life" name. It may have a deeper meaning, but I'll leave it to him, as a born Norwegian, to explain if he wants so.
Although my name is also Norwegian, I must admit not having a clue to it's deeper meaning, nor if there's a correspondance to other names.
Cheers,
Birger

To answer your question, Ruben, if it's good or bad, here are the advantages and disadvantages listed, as Mercedes sees them.

RE: BASF Elastolan
How can something be called Elastolan and be brittle? [:0]
Or is it like fiber, where the material itself is brittle, but when jacketed it works much better? Does this also mean that you're SOL if you're in a major accident?
