I really like the ML with the half chromed out grille. Is this option available for ML's in the US? I'm looking exactly for the same thing as in this picture taken by Birger. Thanks in advance.
I took a look at the MB Deutschland site and the intro movie shows the same half grill on the vehicle. Upon closer inspection, there is a "Chrompaket" which is different from the "Sportpaket". I've tried uploading an image, but I'm getting ASP errors. I'll try again later.
I like it too. I'll consider it for my ML if it's available in the US.
I'm sure it will (maybe already is) available as a spare part over here. Otherwise it's part of Code 900, "Chrom-Paket", which is 450 Euros before taxes.

Sadly, no such thing exists for us US customers - well, at least not for this model year. [:(]
Just take your chrom painted grill out and paint it black, and that's it. In Germany all the standard versions come out with the black grill. If you want semi chrome you order chrom package, if you like full chrome grill (and you don't want the sportpackage - in US appearance package I guess- where the full chrome grill is included, you have to order "offroad styling"

I really like this grill also. I asked the very same question a few months ago but still haven't seen one on a W164. Although, today when walking out of Church I saw a W163 with this type of grill on it. I don't know if it was aftermarket or factory. Looked really good.

It's a factory grill that was initially introduced on the 2000 ML55AMG, then on the 2002 ML500 as the 2002 ML55s got the chrome accented + silver painted grills.

Just noticed an important detail which eluded me before on MB Canada Website. The ML-500 picture with Premium Package shows the Semi Chrome Grille identical to the ML-63 Grille. I am enclosing a Pic from MB Canada Website. However the ML-350 keeps the Normal Grille even with the Premium Package. My Dealer could not explain this. Those in Canada who acquired the Pre-Production models must all have the USA Grille. But can any one confirm that the Canadian ML-500 with PP has really a different Grille. If so kudos to MB because that explains the top price of this option. If not, is it another mis-representation. Drew any comment?.
