I will be going in for the first complimentary service that is suppose to happen between 1000-3000 miles. I have some 1500 miles and have booked an appointment sometime next week,
My questions were, Did any one already completed this service and what should I be looking out for, what are the questions to ask, what are the things to be checked out... please provide your feedback
Actually, my service advisor, who is good old friend, told me not to waste my time with the first service. They don't really do anything, not even an oil change. He did say that if I wanted (recommend), get an oil change before 5000 miles, but the courtesy check at 1000 miles is useless.
The First Service is just a diagnostic test and opportunity to ask questions. I'm not sure if skipping it could void your warranty, but having it done cannot do any harm.

The first service is just a diagnose test service and it ONLY applies in the US market! In European spec ML's this service is NOT a part of the service program for whatever reason...

Hi Greg...on this 1000-3000 mile diagnostic check. I will be picking my R500 up in Mississippi and by the time I get home via SC, I anticipate about 3200 miles total on the new car. Do you think MB will not do the check because it exceeds the mileage limits? I could stop along the line in one of the major cities coming home but would prefer not to. Just wondering. I will call my local SA and see what he says next week.

That should not be a problem. Given it's just a check and the mileage parameters are so wide, should be no big deal.
