Also there's a significant risk of vandalism when you carry your spare around in public like that - far too easy to deflate, even using the valve. And if it's like the one on the W164, you can't take the ML through a car wash either. Just my ten cents.....

PS: "Bri" might be interested in looking at the MB HK site - or even in getting a W164 Sport from HK.
I know this is an old post, but for your infomation at the time you posted it, I had had my RHD UK 320 CDi for two months. They were launched in Sep 05.

Hi Lau:

Unluckily, I am still waiting for my car to come. It will arrive by around middle of August. I have ordered the Airmatic & keyless go. From the feedback of those guys in here, the Airmatic is really good.

You have ordered already? When you can get the car?

Elac,

Good to see you. wow - it seems like you have had quite a long wait, when did you order. I ordered 2 weeks ago and will be getting mine in August too!! I've ordered and just went for the basic Sport model. I asked and if I wanted ANY options (even the memory package) I would not get my car until 2007!! It would be manufactured in Oct. and arrive in Jan 07. That's too long to wait and it would be a waste so I didn't get AIRMATIC. But what bothers me the most now is that for a US$83,000 car, it dosen't even have memory seats!!!

I really don't understand why the memory package is not standard equipment. Anyways, from what's on the forum, I figure that without AIRMATIC, I may have to get the BRABUS springs if the car rolls too much.

Let's keep in touch since we are both expecting cars in Aug!!! See ya

BTW, which Audio did you get? I just went for the Audio 20 standard and am looking to install a Kenwood system. Any experiences?

Lau:
I order it by Feb 2006. Becaue I need to have my own options, that's why I need to wait for so long. I have the Airmatic, Keyless Go, Memory package, Xeon package & Chrome package....etc. For the audio, I have choose just 20 & I am regret now since I use 20 in my E-class now & should have change to 50 this time, but now is too late. No Idea to change the Audio But I think it is not easy since size may not be 100% fit. They are not standard DIN size. My advice is better not to change.

Elac,

Wow - congrats! you really got a fully-loaded ML! I'm still thinking if I should add the Memory package since the side mirrors will go into the "park" mode when shifting into reverse. But the sales people said that if I order now, then I will get my car in Dec or Jan of 2007, which means by the time I get my car in Jan 07, it will already be 1 year old! Hmmm ... I have looked on this forum and there seems to be ways to install the COMAND after the factor fit.

Yes, if I do not choose thos eoption, ZungFu had some standrad car list which I may driving the car now. But those car usually only has KeylessGo or memory function or Airmatic, which cannot fit my needs. This car has lot of demand in US, no way.

Hi lau & elac

It's nice to see someone from HK care to understand more about the car they're going to buy. I've been interested in buying the W164 since its launch and have been lurking around forums to know more about the car.
I love to have a better audio system in the car but it used to cost a lot more in HK because you have to take the Audio50 in addition to the Logic 7 option. It seems different in W164 ...well maybe. when I play around the function "Build your car" in the Mercedes-Benz HK website (not the ZF one), unlike the E-Class, it doesn't require me to take the Audio50 before I add Logic 7. Is that a mistake? Also, have the transmission problems been sorted out yet? Hope you'll enjoy your car and please let us share your experience in the future.

YNWA,

I just went back to the dealership in Lee Gard. yesterday to ask about audio50, what they told me was that I can get just the audio50 without the surround sound package. this itself would cost HS$ 17,000*1.85= 31K. Apparently, the system will not have a TV tuner, cannot play DVD's while the car is moving, only has a 6.5" screen and has no reverse camera. This in my opinion is very expensive, i've seen some kenwood system with all the above for under HK$ 10K.

I'm going to wait and see if there will be some way to interface kenwood systems to the fiber optic network that the Audio 20 uses.

gqlau,

Sorry to have misled you. I actually want the Logic 7 (which I heard a lot of compliments of) but not the Audio50! I wonder if it can be done on the M. The problem with non-benz system is that it's unlikely you can control the system through the steering wheel buttons.
