Europeen Centre Console

I saw in the Interactive Manual a photo of the Lower Centre Console with a wood flip cover. It is so nice and it adds a touch of class to the console instead of those big fat ugly Cup Holders. My dealer still do not know how to get this option which is not on his list, and MB Canada could not provide him with any info about this or other configurations. They are just muted.
Greg, I know that you are looking to incorporate this configuration in your car, did you succeed in getting the dearler ordering it for you.
I will not order my car without it.

I don't think you'll have any luck with special orders at this point--they can't even fill standard orders! Maybe in a year or so there will be more flexibility or options. I would not let something like that stop you. The parts should be available, through European sources if necessary. Hopefully one of our Euro friends will get us the part numbers.

RE: Europeen Centre Console

I think there will be a market for swapping Euro center console parts against US garage door openers [;)][;)]

Just picked up my 2007 ML 320CDI at Belgian dealer.

It unfortunately arrived with the NA center console, with the big cupholders. My dealer said it would be almost impossible to replace it with the old European one.

I am by the way very happy with my car after 850km. Ipod integration kit is fantastic, have no issues what so ever with volume of the Ipod (with HK sound system).

Distronic is fantastic option, really works very well. I drove from Antwerp (Belgium) to Calais (France, to get tunnel to UK and London), on the motorway without touching brakes or accelerator. Distronic took care of everything.
TV tuner works a lot better than I anticipated as well....

I will keep everybody posted and will send some pictures asap.

Hi Eagle36

I was told every 2007 model comes with that same center console, nothing I could do about it.
I got the impression the actual cupholderw were a little smaller than those that I saw on pictures or NA cars but obviously I could be mistaken.

I actually don't mind the cup holders because they are great bins for cell phone and sun glasses when you don't have drinks in them. The American ones are about 90mm diameter front and 97mm rear (inside of black plastic sleeve).
