I read all what is written in the manual about this feature. I still do not understand why is it made. With the SmartKey I press a button to unlock the car, with the KeylessGo we must press a button on the door handle, so what. So far the only difference is that with KeylessGo we press the Start Button to start the engine otherwise we use the SmartKey like every other car. My neighbor has the KeylessGo on his SL-500 and seems to use it more as a talking subject than a real convenience feature. Here is a known problem with the KeylessGo: if you leave the car (with your KeylessGO Fob) with the engine running, the engine will keep running until someone depresses the Start Button or someone else drives away with it.
If any body has this feature, please share your thoughts.
Have you ever had stuff in your hands ie grocery bags and then had to dig in your pockets to get your keys? It would be so much easier if I just had to push a button to open the car then push another button to start it. It is very easy to understand the convienence of this feature, all most everyone i know with it swears by it.
We have the KeyLess go and at first we thought it was a wasted feature...but now we think that why the hell wouldn't you want it...kinda like the way we first felt about heated seats...
I wanted to clear up the button to open the door...on our Keyless go, all you have to do is grap the handles and the door unlocks...you can program it to open just the driver door or all the door. The way the we programed was that if you touch the driver door, then only that door and the gas door unlocks. If you touch any other door then all the door unlocks. Locking, you can use the fob or any of the buttons. As far as having the car runs until someone hits the stop button..it would be the same if you left you car running with the ignition keys in it...no technology to fix common sense.
flhrich: Thanks.Very encouraging. One of the few reasons why I am leaning toward the ML-500 is the KeylessGo option which is not available for the ML-350. I wanted to hear from someone who is acually using this feature. Your input is well appreciated.
np. my wife loves it. She never has to look for the key, as long as she has her purse. Same for me, it nice not to go digging in my pockets for the key. After a week or so of using the Keyless go, you start to get spoil by it, i almost ripped my arm off trying to open our suburban, until i realized which car I was driving...lol
