I have ordered a loaded 2006 ML500, I hearad about engine upgrades in 2007 from 24 -32 on the 5 L, should i wait, can someone give me more info on the engine update
Vasago, I have the same dilema because I have a preference to the 4600cc V8 engine which will debut on 2007 G-Class. MB has a pattern in delivering the next model years in North America by fall. I anticipate that the 2007 ML-Class will follow the same pattern i.e. September 2006. May be our resident expert Greg can elaborate on that.
I also learned through experience that there will always be a better upgrade or model on the horizon. Hence we can waste our time waiting for something better. The present 5 litres V8 is a proven engine which was perfected over the years by MB.
May be our resident expert Greg can elaborate on that.
I have no inside info on the 4-valve V8s, but I have been urgning everyone considering a V8 to wait for them; if the new 3.5 is any indication, they will be worth the wait. More power, economy and better emissions at the same time! The 4.6 is rumored to be around 325 hp and 5.5 at least 380 hp. Another 90 - 100 for the AMG ML63.

Actually the more interesting rumor is that diesel will finally be available in the USA. I would be very interested in trading if that were the case. If not, then the new ML really doesn't float my boat enough to really want it that much.
