Fuel System Cleaner and Prolong

Hey,
I was wondering if any of you guys have used a fuel system cleaner in your MLs. Are you not supposed to? Any side effects? Etc...let me know.

Also, I have contemplated using Prolong in my engine oil. I know the oil is synthetic already, but prolong is supposed to help on top of that. Any word on this? I used it in my Blazer as well and it was fine. However, the ML is a bit more complicated vehicle with the electronics and all. Any imput?

Thanks guys!

John

thoughts....

j_dawg,

I pour in some fuel injector cleaner at each oil change (4000 miles) and only use good gas (No Costco garbage).

As for Prolong, the Federal Trade Commission put the screws to them.

j_dawg,

From what I have read of Prolong is it has chlorine in its chemical make up. What scares me is chlorine is a corrosive. I would not want it in my engine.

I have a spray can of Prolong Super Penetrating Lubricant that I have tested on some door hinges.
