New Rotors/Brakes... Thanks to PeteF.'s instrcutions

Check out my new brakes on the ML55- Brembo Crossdrilled/slotted rotors with Rotex Pads.

His instructions were dead on! The stock rotors took some muscle to remove, but nothing that a small 16oz mallet couldn't handle. I decided to try the Rotex pads in place of the Porterfields this time. So far so good, as they are as quiet as the Port's. Hopefully they'll be just as low in dust.

KIR,
Jim

Brembos

I got the rotors and pad from www.brakeworld.com. Check out the site and punch in your car info and you'll see the options, the guys there were really helpful, but I did have to wait an extra week for the rotors to be delivered.

I got the pads in 5 days and was able to track the package. What's great is that they send you email confirmation and tracking numbers with your orders. They said the rotors took an extra week because they had to be coated to prevent corrosion. The front rotors were $150 a piece and authentic Brembo's. They look exactly like this
.

hey JD...

i just ordered some rotors and pads from john at brakeworld. i asked why there was a difference with the rotors you posted on your ML55 and their pic they posted on their site and he replied "those are not our rotors".

he said the hole pattern is not their cut and he didnt know where those are from.

can you explain? here's the two pics next to one another and you can see what he means.

that's who i ordered from (john). what's the difference in the rotors? looks the same to me...it's the same pattern hole pattern, i think the three slots are hidden behind my wheel. but the holes are a 4-3-4-3-4 hole pattern.

john and i had a long talk last week before i ordered them to make sure that they were Brembo's, because there was some guy on ebay selling the home-drilled rotors. he assured me that they were; and the pictures that were on his website were the actual ones that i'd receive. sure enough i got exactly that... call him up and ask him about the rotors/pads that he sold to Van a week ago- or the last set of ML55 rotors, there can't be too many of those- he'll remember.

no worries JD...

i just wanted to make sure im getting the right rotors. john said he's sending me the exact rotors in the brembo pic. not to be nit-picky but yours dont look like the same ones. just look at the spacing between the holes. i've actually seen those rotors before and they dont look like the same ones in the brembo pic. just my observation.
