My friends said the stock ML430 wheel looks better than the ML55 AMG wheel. Does anyone here see the same? The AMG wheel is not chrome. Is this the reason?

Everyone has there views, having had both on my ML (non-chrome.....

7 spokes), I think the AMG's look better than any other on the ML. One exception and those are the Monoblock's with the 5 holes.

Stocks are 17s and make the brake rotors look bigger . . .

The big thing going for the AMGs over stock ML-V8 wheels, I think, is to get 285s instead of 275s. The 275s up front are awesome, and since MLs can accommodate even bigger tires up front, I can only imagine that 285s would be some impressive road meats to lead the way.

Those considerations aside, I like the 7-spoke design better. I've seen a smaller 16" version on some SLKs that to me look better than all of the other options on the little sports car. I definitly like the AMG wheels over the latest stock wheels for the ML500s.

ML 430

I think the chrome 430 wheels on MBladys truck in particular look stunning!

the pics of the wheels above look nothing special...
but with the extras (running boards/spoiler etc)
The sum looks so much better than the parts, very clean

I have a (now) colour coded white ML (320) with the stock 2000 wheels and you wouldn't think it was even the same vehicle, Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

For months you have been debating on tires, and then tires and wheels. I think that this is ultimately a decision that you have to make because it is so personal [:)]

Alex,
You are right. Non-chrome AMG looks better than non-chrome 7 spokes. Chrome AMG may show too much due to fat spokes and may not look right. I like chrome but just do not want to have an over-done look.

Drew,
I agree. I think My prob is too picky in details what to put on my ML. I know I have this sickness but can not get rid of it.

Now I own 2 set of wheels the chrome 17" 7 spokes and the silver AMG with SP9000 tires.

Is to put on the other wheels and drive with them for a couple of weeks before you can make a decision. Once you make a decision, get rid of the other ones immediately so that you won't keep going back and forth.
