Burning Oil

With 24000 miles on it, my ml is in the shop right now having the piston rings replaced. The dealer wasnt going to do anything about the oil consumption until we insisted and this is what they called and told us yesterday. How many times does an automobile have to be in the shop for it to qualify for the lemon law? I have been without my ml for a number of times and not for the same thing every time. It seems to always be something different. I am not a very happy ml owner right now.

PA lemon law states that ........

as long as you had your vehicle serviced for that particular problem within the first year of purchase or 12,000 miles you are protected. You don't have to bring the vehicle in 3 times during that period. The key is it must be brought to the attention of the manufacturer at least once before the end of that period. The number of attempts is 3 times and then the problem may go to abitration. Also if the vehicle is being repair for 30 or more days same thing, arbitration. Of course, I recommend consulting a lawyer for this matter. Good luck.
