Does anyone know if this is a good HID setup for the ML?
www.xenondepot.com sell kits for the ML, and there's a group buy going on. I can get them for $420 Shipped. Any thoughts on this?
Here's a link to my friend's Celica with a 4100 kit.

He said it's still in the 100 hour break in process..
Looks pretty good.

1) I would never buy a retrofit kit for a car that had HID available OEM. One should use the proper OEM parts. "Beam pattern corrected" is a load of garbage, because the bulb puts out a different number of lumens from the original bulb, thus rendering the reflector design completely incorrect. The reflector is designed to put the correct number of lumens in a proper pattern based on how many lumens of output the bulb makes. Since the HID bulb puts out a much higher amount, the reflector is not designed to work with this amount. The amount of light output directed upwards can therefore be much higher, and cause glare to oncoming traffic. Not a good situation.
2) If #1 were not true, then that means I would be trying to save money. If that's true, then I certainly wouldn't spend $420 on a retrofit kit because they can be had for MUCH LESS. But since #1 is true, #2 is moot.

My friend's ML put these setup on last week. It screams "fake xenon" and became so embarrassing looking after a while that he removed them after a week. We were at a traffic light and even these teenagers crossing the street pointed at the lights and started laughing.
It's a combination of the the color and beam pattern coming out of the non original xenon headlamp housing that just doesn't look right.
Just my opinion, but I'd spend just that little extra for the real OEM xenon setup. Plus Scorchie is right - that 'shield' they wrap over the bulb for correct light pattern is a load of crap.
why don't you get what scorchie euro bi-xenon? if I don't have one yet I will get it in ...

To simplify what scorchie said:
(where n is a positive integer), but have not been able to find the process for evaluating this power series.
This summation can be broken up and rewritten. Splitting the fraction into two pieces by writing as the sum of and , then rewriting as and simplifying, gives the correct answer.
(the first sum runs over all even integers k=2q, the second over all odd integers k=2q+1, so the combined sum runs over all integers k).
Now you should notice that the last summation is just the power series expansion of, and this is the reason you should stick with OEM!
Hope this helped [:D][:D]

Hey Tony, get the Euro Bi-xenon from scorchie(it exactly the same as my) you can pick them up and I will help you to get it work in your ML. It will be almost the same cost after you sold your old lights.
