Oh forgot to add that to my website...

I can get ML 55 Hood scoops which are the two indents for the ML.. I'm selling them for $100US and they must be professionally installed and painted.. since u're going to paint it anyways =) but I need to get at least 5 orders at that price..
A cheaper alternative than $600US =PP

That will depend on your body shop..

perhaps .. $50-100? It will take perhaps 30 mins shop time to install them prior to painting it depends on the experience of the bodyman. or you can do it yourself I don't see why not and let the bodyman touch it up.. if there is enough interests .. I can post a DIY article on install and some tips.

I'm guessing installation will cost as much as......

buying a brand new hood. You wouldn't stick it on so that would mean you would have to weld it.

Its fiberglass spoiler like..

You don't spot weld it.. just use fusor glue will do it.. its just like a spoiler.. I believe its bolted on as well.. the reason why I said it needs to be professionally installed because the bodyman has to put bondo on the edges to blend it in.. Thats why I don't know how much your shop charges.. but my shop I can do it for free =)

If I only lived closer to you, I'd be there today!

Steven - i'm curious what these bond-on ML55 hood scoops look like. Do you have a pic of the raw scoop? If my match is correct, I'd save hundreds if I go this way:

A pair of ML55 hood scoops - $100
2 Hrs of body shop labor @ $80/hr - $160
Paint, bond, etc materials - $100

TOTAL for ML55 hood scoop mod: $360.00

ML55 original hood - $400
Shipping and handling - $50
3 Hrs Body shop Labor - $240
Paint, bond, etc materials - $200

TOTAL for OEM ML55 hood: $890.00

What is cheaper? The answer is obviously clear!

For those that have 98-99 make sure that it will fit.........

your vehicle. The ML55 uses shocks to lift up the hood whereas the 98-99 just uses the metal stick to hold it up. Just check this with Drew or Chris who may know the answer.
