I think Drew had mentioned that he preferred Night Mode on his nav. With mine (a DVD Nav system on a 2002 MCS screen) I can't see the smaller roads (about one pixel wide) unless I'm looking at the screen dead on. I've got a few theories on this:
In 2003 they improved/changed the MCS screen to allow for a wider viewing angle or better contrast
There is a contrast or brightness adjustment that I'm missing.
I've just got the one bad viewing angle and someone of different height would be able to see things fine.
I kind of doubt it's the last one, I tried changing the seat position with no effect. Does this bother anyone else or am I unique? Unlike Drew I'm tolerant of the Day mode color scheme so it's not a critical concern of mine...
That was my solution to be able to see it... you also have to remember that different members are going to see things differently, because they are different heights or have their seat settings different. For where I sit, this was the best choice.

It's in the Display Setup area. I've set mine to 11 right now, which is above the half mark. Perhaps you'd want to check this? Mine is visible from pretty much everywhere, as per the pictures that I've shot.

Oh it's not that I'm not tolerant of it. I just like the black background better since the other roads become yellow, white, red, etc. It provides for a nicer contrast [:)]
I thought I saw something in the CD version, but the DVD version seems to have taken it out. I guess I'll live with the day mode until the next software release.
