How to take apart the center console to replace the cup holder cover

Do you know how to take the center console apart, I am replacing the black plastic roll away cover for the center cup holder with the ML500 Burlwood version. This is for a 2002 ML320.

Thanks,
Jason

From Kevin at Clair Parts, they sell it for $57.40, If you went to a local dealership, they would charge $70. He can get all mercedes parts and sells they at about 20% off. Very nice guy to deal with and very fast shipment.

Hope this helps,
Jason

How do you take apart the console?

Jason, can you give us an idea of how easy/hard it is to switch? If it's easy I'd like to do the same, thanks alot.

Very easy!! I highly recommend it, looks so much better!! Took me only 15 minutes, 5 of which were spent figuring out how to take the console apart to get to that piece which is not hard at all!

still.. how did you remove the center console

A card got stuck int he ashtray and I was unabel to remove the center console to remove the card. Had to have the dealer do this...

If you can put instructions up - I'm sure it will benefit all.

Thanks in advance.

Please follow this thread to see how to get to it:

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/mess...1&messno=50919

You'll see how to take out the actual "bin" and armrest there, from there just lift up on the "switch panel" (btw, this is for 2003 and later models only).

Good luck!
