OT: This is why Mercedes are better than BMWs

OK...Mercedes has teleaid that can unlock your car in 2 minutes with the right information.

My friend's dad is in Beverly Hills right now, in the pouring rain, standing next to his $85,000 BMW 745 Li In which he locked the keys. The car is so computerized that you can Jimmy the doors. You can't break a window because the car wont unlock if the alarm is going off (not to mention the Bill and the cold rain). So with nothing to do he has to tow it or leave it there!! haha Sucker I got 1 thing to say: S-Class ove 7 series. haha!! So my friend either has to drive 45 min in the pouring rain to give him a key, or call AAA and stand there for 45 min waiting in the rain!!

I mean for ML.

There are only two ways to lock the ML since their is no key hole on the doors.

one is use keyless remote. If you push the lock on the remote inside the car, then put the key inside the car, as soon as you open the driver side door, the car is unlocked. So in this cae, you can't lock the key in the car.

two is use the central door lock. You stop the car, leave the key inside the car, left the car from drive side. Then someone in the backseat(maybe passenger side), open the door (not the drive door), push the central lock button, then shut the door. In this case, the key is locked in the car.

any other ways?

Try this

Leave remote in heavy jacket.
Get ready to wash car by taking off jacket.
Chuck jacket in 2nd row.
Slam door.

Doors lock as something on the jacket is pushing on the lock button.

Your jaw drops and hits the floor as you realize you're locked out :-)

open the door by key, not push remote button

The driver side door key hole (if there is one) is covered by rubber. In the situation like the battery on the remote is gone, is it possible to open the door by the key itself and drive the car?

Thanks

Just looked at the owner's manaul, yes, you can lock/unlock the driver's door by folding key.

I use this feature all the time when getting our baby out of the car seat. So far my key has been in my pocket when getting out, but I can see how it can stay behind [;-)]
