Go to the car wash, one of the ones that do big rigs, the wash it yourself ones.

Pull in there, pop the hood and use the engine/tire wash settings. Good degreaser formula and very minimal pressure.

Soak it down, wash the rest of the truck, come back, and either resoak it, or rinse it off with the sparkle rinse, not the regular rinse.

You do not want to wash it with too much pressure.

Do not use water or any liquids

I asked the same question to the service dept and they told me not to use any water, steam, liquid, or anything that can leak thru any electric parts. They recommended the use of air. Yes, your air compressor can do the job, no water, no mess. I know, how about oil residue, well first there should not be any, and second use a shop towel to clean it. So if your engine is dusty like mine, use your air compressor.
OK, here we go with the comments....

Here come the comments,

When I detailed at our local MB dealer while in college, just 4 years ago, we used a spray on engine degreaser, then used a garden hose to wash it off.

The key is to not use pressure to wash under hood. Plain old water from a hose, running slowly, or the sparkle rinse at car washes will be just fine.

Just don't hold the water nozzle with 125 psi directly on the coilpack or sparkplug wire boot at the spark plugs and the vehcile will fire right up.

This method is 4 years old, it seems antiquated to me, cars have changed since then, more electronics, and wires and plugs everywhere. I think the "newer" method is a lot safer......LOL

Just pulling your leg man!!!!
And how do I measure 125 psi coming from my water hose??[^][^][:p][:p]....LOL
I am so funny tonight....such a good mood.. don't get mad, OK? get even....(tire rotation posting???)

I find that most people recommend measuring the pressure from a garden hose via the rectum[}:)]

No worries, just don't want people cranking up the pressure on their pressure washers at home.

I guess you already tried the procedure for measuring the water pressure, that's why you are recommending that..[}:)]
I use a pressure gauge, more reliable than your recommended method.[}:)]

Here we go again.
It's like the oil change method, you use whichever suits you best. Air or water, just clean your engine.[:)][:D][8D]
