Try soaking the thing down with Simple Green and rinsing with spot-free rinse at the coin-up. Leave it running though.

Worked really well for me.

Good stuf.

Simonize makes a spray foam called Tuff Stuff that's pretty good too. But Simple Green is my first choice.

What is the purpose of cleaning the engine? Is it just for look?

its not only for looks its also helps wash away all does molds and crap away that can coz your engine damage
