If any of you are bidding, LKM, because I need the antenna now. Otherwise I will keep looking or pay $300, which will make me cry.
If you like, I can get the exact same one for you (18 75) for US$185, brand new and MB OEM of course. Not quite $152, but stll a heck of a lot cheaper than $300! Drop me a message at mklasse@benzworld.org if you're interested [:)]

They want $300 for part #163-820-18-75, too much.
If anybody knows where else I can get the antenna for less the $300, please LKM.
BETO, do you know if you go with OE antenna you also need an spliter?
The cheap way is get an after market antenna and place the antenna under the dash above the headunit.

Let me know if you need one I will sell you cheap.

Tony[:)]
Tony, I'd rather use the OEM antenna or similar. I will get the OEM from Drew, and yes, you need and splitter.

What type of GPS connector does the MCS accept??? Is it an HRS connector or a WICLIC connector??? Or is it something completely different?

As far as Comand goes, it doesn't need a specific 163 GPS antenna part... I used a 203 GPS antenna that costs less than $50. Just a thought.

As posted earlier, the COMAND and MCS both use the same Hirose HRS GT5 connector.

I agree that it's easier to use the 203 antenna. If someone wants the look of the mini-whip antenna, go ahead and mount either an OEM M-klasse version, or an OEM W203 version (no GPS in it). Then use the underdash antenna which is OEM for W203, W209, W211, W220, etc.

Can anyone point me to a list of necessary parts, the vendors to buy them from, and maybe some install instructions?

Any help most appreciated.
