LOL! All my cars are hard earned. I work 7 days a week. I eat ramen for lunch almost everyday. I'm probably the cheapest bastard you'll ever know.
It also helps to have good parents to guide you right, but not to buy you stuff. This is how I earned my life. The Modena will be shared by me and my brother. We both work hard to attain our dreams.
However, you should never compare your self to anyone else, you'll just loose sleep.

RATSO: I think about that everyday, sometimes I have nightmares about the Money I've blown on previous cars. At one time, I can't believe I dumped $30K into an Accord that I ended up selling for $9K.
never compare yourself with those other kids spending their parents' money on cars, especially in vancouver. just think those cars are not theirs, it's the parents'.
I pumped $12k in equipment only into a stereo for a Ford Probe of all things. What a waste. Then I got married, grew up, had kids, bought a business, etc... (in that order)
I still have a hard time with depreciation and resale value when I put so much into personalizing my vehicles.
