Have instructions or pictures? Have 60k coming up and thought it was about time. It looks like the best price is about $475 for Bilstein. Thoughts? Musing?

I've had both on other vehicles and they were exceptional. The EIS shocks on my Dakota were a truly amazing difference. The tokico's on my "Project 350" grand cherokee really made it handle well.
I don't know if either make applicatinos for the ML though. I changed the Dakota out myself, but would probably have a pro do the ML.
Let me know what you choose. Approaching 60k myself and will likely need to do the same.

They didn't have both ends for my 2000 ML320 and were a bit pricey to boot. Tokico doesn't make them for the ML. It looks like only Bilstein and BOGE (I'm just guessing here) make them. Have found a full set of Bilstein's for about $475 delivered. Have spring compressor and air wrench ready. Also, no forum publication on shocks. Do promise to take pictures so there will be in the future.
The fronts are very easy to do. The rears are more problematical
because of the integral spring and location of the upper bolts.
Check mercedesshop.com under the M-class forum. There is a recent set of posts on the rear shock issue.

Drew, a bit of good news would be welcome.
When it comes to any large DIY projects, I'm afraid that I'm at a loss other than to pass on what I recall from others. What I can tell you is that IIRC, the Bilsteins don't work with the fronts due to the different mounting points for '00+. You may want to double-check on this situation with Bilstein before spending the large sum of money.
Please note that the MB OEM rear springs and shocks for '00 models come together as one unit.
BTW, the rears springs much apparently be compressed using a special MB spring compressor.
Yeah, I saw that. However IIRC, at least two members from the mailing list (with '00 MLs) ordered them and found that the fronts did not fit, but that the rears did. Do you think that this may have been resolved by now?
