Re: Ushafiq, would you mind posting a pic of the start up screen?

Quote:

When you power it up the display says
"Sound by Bose"
the computer has to be programmed to display this, next time you are at dealership ask them to set the display on, this I believe is off by default.
Also the sound system has to set to Bose this is a different setting from display. Make sure you get that checked too mine was set to normal which I believe is the standard speaker setup. Now if if I set the base to 10 I can feal the subwoofer.

Re: Help with MCS on 02 with Bose, not programmed for Bose

Part of my original questions was do you see any indication that the FM station tunned is stereo. Can someone please check the MCS to see if there is any indication. All other benz radios do say ST

How do you tell whether Bose is enabled?

The unit was recently replaced on my 2000 ML430 and when the dealer returned it to me I noticed that the splash screen was not working. The dealer enabled the screen and then I thought that the sound sounded a bit dead to which he assured me that the Bose was enabled and operational. Is there a way of telling weather the Bose is enabled or do I need to go back to the dealer?

For OEM units you have to go to dealer that is the answer I got from BOSE.
Have the dealer check the setting. The output should be set to Bose, its a different setting then the display this is done through the computer
