Anyone install the MB Acrylic Hood Deflector?!? Doesn't it sratch the hood ?
Hey guys..I just got the MB acrylic hood deflector in and have some questions..Help!
1) The hood deflector requires that the "E-Clips" be inserted into the sides of the hood..Does this damage or affect the hood? The kit included these 3m clear strips that are supposed to keep the hood from scuffing from these clips..Anyone have experience with these clips ?
2) At high speeds, does the hood deflector ever flap or rub against the hood?
I'm having serious reservations about this protector and might return it for the bra...
Any suggestions ????? Thanks guys..![;)]

For your silver vehicle, I'd recommend the clear deflector that I have. It attaches using 3M heat resistant double-sided tape and doesn't require any clips.

Hey andrew, where did u get the clear deflector? it looks fantastic!!
At least they're giving you something to compensate for it. I got the clear deflector from *************.com. It's only $69! If you really want a smoked one, they have one for the same price as well.

Using the 3M tape I've been able to remove and reinstall the deflector without touching the paint (although I may have to replace the tape soon).

Twice I've gotten to a speed where the harmonics caused a vibration. There was only a two or three MPH range where this happened and there was a VERY strong crosswind at the time. I wouldn't worry about it unless you're often driving in a hurricane...

I'd be too afraid of the bra getting dirt under it to scratch the hood. The deflector does a good job protecting the entire hood by deflecting most of the grit and stones away. Now if only it did a better job on the windshield... Maybe I'll look into Stephan's lower windshield Lorinser piece for this.
