This applies to the CLK, and the C-class. However, the S-class and the E-class definitely use LEDs. I can't remember what the ML uses, but I quite certain that they're LEDs as well. You can't see any orange that you can in the CLK's and C's mirrors strips.
You can see it through the clear housing and there is no filament. Since the rest come on at the same time (no latency) I assume that they cannot be incandescent. I think the poster is a bit confused.

If so then this really belongs in the C-class forum. I don't see any amber in the ML's mirror strips.
