Front wheel bearing

So I went to Big O Tires in Loveland Colorado to get my free rotation and Balance on my 2002 ML 320 and was told that the front passenger wheel bearing is loose as a goose.

Later that afternoon I had an appointment with my Benz technician to replace a door lock actuator. Joey Lopez owner of Lopez Mercedes Specialist told me to acquire a new hub as I also already have purchased the wheel bearing and seal and retaining clip, and today I also purchased a new lower ball joint, next week my new hub from World Pac will be paid for and then it's time for my Benz tech to remove and replace all of the above referenced parts so everything on the passenger front will be new and tight.

In November of 2015, I replaced all tie rods both inner and outer, and in September of 2016 I replaced the passenger front axle and input shaft seal and did a front differential service with Lucas 75 W 90 full Synthetic fluid and a tube of diff fluid additive.

If anyone is looking for a great deal for a new replacement half shaft axle I got mine from NAPA, for like $80.00 + tax Mercedes Stealership wanted $1,500.00 for just the part. NAPA NEW AXLE HAS LIFETIME WARRANTY AND Is MADE IN USA!

It's all good.:laugh All vehicles I drive are intended to outlast me. They all get whatever they need.

Since failure of wheel hub is not a common issue we all would like to see what has failed and why.

I have had my time with my E320 today. It got all it needed at this time. It had this ever so slight vibration in steering 55-65 mph. It's all good now.:).

Lower control arm bushings ware wasted..

I had a catastrophic bearing failure on my CLS that took out the spindle, the locking nut, the rotor, the brake pads, the sensor, and it cost me $1500 in parts. I got as many as possible from oem places and now everything has a full year warranty. Tough lesson to learn. Parts were so hot they were blue. Drove very slowly. Car is fine now.
