2002 ML320 (W163) will not start please help!

I will start off by saying thanks to everyone in the forums I have learned a lot while reading all the posts. Now on to my issue.

I have replaced a 15 year old battery ( I know WOW!! it lasted this long) and now she wont start or crank.

Here is what I have done thus far (thanks to the forum)
1. checked relay and jumped pins to turn over the starter (good), checked voltage when the key is in the start position on the relay (nothing)
2. Car verifies key and lets me turn it all the way on ( I have used 2 other keys as well all same result)
3. checked all fuses (good)
4. all dash lights stay lit once key is in position 2
5. will not go out of park unless I use the hidden button ( on the dash the place where it says what gear you are in says nothing)
6. swapped around relays

Thanks in advance.

Obviously, you have codes due to the battery failure. Scan the car & erase them. Then try again.

I tried a el cheapo code reader that works on my sisters ML and it fails to connect. I have also used a Bluetooth one with same results. Should I spend the 130/hr the nearest MB dealer quoted me and get the car towed there?

Do you have volt meter? Test light? Check all fuses first.

Do not tow it to dealer.

I do have a voltmeter and have tested all fuses in the car even the ones by the passenger door.
I can make a test light if that would help.

Thanks again

Do they have voltage?

Any spills in to the shifter? Any arcing events during battery replacement? Any jump start events.

no voltage on f10 or f19.

I did jump it the day before and it started fine all day.

When I changed the battery there was a spark.

Small spark when connecting battery is fine. Welding arc is not.

What is production date?

When quoting fuses name the fuse box. F1 is under hood F2 is on right kick panel.
