I was thinking about the mighty 430 engine.
I have replaced every spark plug on the motor.
First engine that has 2 plugs per cylinder on a car engine.
Most reciprocating aircraft engines have 2 plugs per cylinder.
The question of the day is.......
I have read that the engine has 3 valves per cylinder.
Is it 2 intake valves, or 2 exhaust valves?
I can tell you as a former piper Comanche pilot the lycoming 6 IO500 series engine costs a bundle to maintain. The aircraft was fast enough but an annual with no extra parts or repairs cost 1500.00 back in the 90's.
It was mine too. Absolutely loved that aircraft. Flew like a P51 and sipped fuel like a piper Cub.
