I ran into some problems today.......think one of the injector seals blew and I had to park at the side of the road, I had some smoke coming from under the bonnet and when I pulled over it was going a bit like "put,put,put,put,put" (don't quote me on that)
There was some fluid in and around the injector that sits under the coolant reservoir possibly oil and diesel combined.
I'm going to pick it up soon with an 01 Sprinter with a flatbed trailer so I'll try put up a video of what's happening under the bonnet later.......
It had two injectors that blew, one was just the seal but the other is still not right with a new seal so the garage are going to get the injector tested on Monday and we'll go from there.....
Does anyone have experience with reconditioned injector versus new?
I saw a full set of Bosch injectors on eBay for ?1350 ouch!!
Still off the road at present, there were two injectors leaking one just needed a seal the other had been looked at previously (#5) and there was some kind of loctite type thread lock used which gave up last week.
The mechanics are trying to locate a long tap to clean the threads and fit a bigger clamp bolt.
Injector seals and the clamp bolt are sorted, the mechanics had to use a helicoil to get the injector clamped in place.......just have to sort out the rest of the issues now.....
