While doing an oil change, I noticed a very slow leak in the transmission coolant line (see photo). I was hoping to get some guidance if this leak can be fixed or does it have to be replaced and if someone has the DIY directions. The leak appear to be at the metal coupling circled in red.
My apologies in advance if this post has already been addressed but after 2 hours of searching my initial search did not yield any results.
I have just addressed this same leak on my 430.
I bought a copper pipe flaring tool and put a couple of small bits of 1.6mm steel in one of the dies and re clamped the hose. It worked perfectly. Dealer here wanted $700 for that trans hose.

I discovered I have this exact same leak as well....the hose assembly is $330 which is ridiculous. I was planning to remove and have a local hydraulic hose shop replace the hoses for me.
how long ago did you crimp it? The underlying issue is that the hose is cracked, so I don't see recrimping as a long term repair.
Thanks Matt and Art for your replies. I actually discovered the leak before doing the oil change and it is weeping oil from the rubber end (See photo). To be sure, I dried the area several times and confirmed that is where the leak is coming from. I will get under the car again to check for other related leaks as I noticed my transmission pan is also wet. Good timing as I am in the process of doing an ATF change.
(The photo I am using is not the actual photo of the leak as the photo I took was in poor quality - I found this indentical photo while I was doing my research)
In that case it's the same leak as mine so re crimping it will work ok. My oil pan and crossmember were also covered in oil just from the oil blowing back while driving. It was leaving an oil spot on my garage floor overnight about the size of a quarter. Obviously leaks more while driving.
Vbquimpo, I'm the original owner of the photo and the vehicle. Leak that your seeing in the photo was the result of rust and small puncture in the hard line, not the connector between the line and hose.
To solve this in the simple way, replace the entire line assembly. Yes, can be DIY and repair the line if time and material permitted. Price of the line was much less before. For what ever reason, cost of parts went up on this assembly.
$50-00 is even better.......... This was for the 500. For the 55, I left the metal pipe completely out.......Works like a charm......MUCH better quality, then the original..........
Very nice. I had the same problem about a year ago. I considered getting it rebuilt at a hydraulic shop, but then I found an aftermarket one for around 100-150$ on partsgeek.com. So far, so good.
BTW, don't scatch or lose the round aluminum seals. They are 10$ each from the dealer. They also don't stock them, so takes a few days to order them...
You need to find a shop dealing with hydraulics. They will clamp the metal pipe to the hydraulic hose.
