I have a 2000 ML320 and I was cleaning junk out from under the plastic grill thing at the base of the windshield. When I put the wiper back on, I overtightened it and it broke the stud. Is it possible to replace just that stud? Is there a workaround in lieu of buying an $80 set of new wiper linkage? Machine shop maybe? Should I just hit it with a little weld and grind it off when I need to remove the wiper? I'm grasping at straws here...
Short of getting new (used) linkage assembly that is only reliable solution.
