NAV was delivered today

Hello to all, my 01 MCS/NAV unit was delivered today, but I was too busy to take pics. It looks like they did not have MB removal keys and forced it out, but the side clips still work. Does anyone know if a 1999 ML320 has the antenna cable run from the roof to??? I do have the antenna base on the rear roof, but unsure if there is the proper connection to the MCS??

Thanks

It does have the cable...

But the question is whether it has the right type of cable for the GPS unit. You may need a GPS/Cell splitter, if you want to go that route. The only way to tell for sure is to actually try it out. Probably the easier route is, as Frank said, to go with an aftermarket Alpine antenna as he did.

Re: It does have the cable...

I agree and have contacted the aftermarket supplier. FYI, the seller gave me(N/C) the NAV antenna and the wheels ('01 7 spokes-look new!!).
Where is the cable and what is that grey plastic cover under the gas pedal??????????/

Stewart

Did he give you the wheels for free too? :-) You can always install the antenna for just looks.

That black button is the secret emergency button when you need instant and maximum acceleration. All MB vehicles have it, but not many people know about it. Just press it down until it clicks and hold the steering wheel tight as your vehicle will shoot away.

Heh...

Not too bad of a deal at all! The cable is pre-connected from the roof socket and runs all of the way to the back of the radio headunit.

1999's had a non-MCS NAV option

In this case, the GPS display was an external display mounted to the top of the dash. (at least in the two vehicles that I saw) Presumably the player was located elsewhere. I am not sure where the antenna was located, but maybe the cable Drew is referring to was for that unit. You may luck out and the cables are compatable.
