That worked for me too.
For a while...
Unplugging and plugging in the harness connectors at the rear of the head unit also worked, as did unplugging and plugging other various connectors in the system.
For a while...
I hope you had better luck than I did. I've been without sound for about a week. Again.
On the bright side, prior to logging into the forum I just ordered a new double DIN Kenwood HU with Bluetooth and IPod controls from Crutchfield. I'm done messing with the MCS. Time for an upgrade anyway...
I was wondering if you could suggest the best path for running video and power cables from the radio up front to the rear bumper on the ML320. This is for a DIY rear camera installation.
I appreciate any help and suggestion that you or anyone else can give.
from the radio along the footwell, passing the front seats, then rear seats into the panel to the side of the rear seats into the jack compartment. All under the carpet of course. In the jack compartments the chassis have openings closed by rubber plugs. Remove the plugs, out of the car & into the bumper.
Would love to know if anyone knows the answer to the mysterious low FM sound. Encountered a few people with this issue, usually in 2003 or later models. Was thinking it was due to the antenna, or the automatic noise reducer in mirror, but have not heard any clear reason for this. It happens on radios even with working fiber optics.
Unfortunately I lost sound too last week. I have a 2002 ML 500. I took out the Fuses #21 and #40 and replaced them after maybe 30 seconds. Restarted the car and entered the security code. Still no sound
Everything was working fine last week. The MCS comes up fine and I can select FM Radio/Cassette/NAV, etc. But there is no sound from the speakers. Any other suggestions? I can try to take the AMP out (I think it is just above the driver foot well under the steering) and try to reconnect it to see if that makes any difference.
But if anyone has experienced this before, let me know if you have any suggestions.
Remove radio and check connections on the back. My no sound was due to a loose connection.
