Front license plate bracket/holder removal

My '05 ML350SE is on its way here to NC from NV. It has a factory front license plate bracket/holder on the bumper that I won't be needing (rear license plate only here in NC).

How does it come off? Is it just screwed on?

And is there a nice clean way to plug the holes left behind?

Thanks!

It's either 2 or 4 self taping screws, I can't remember.
Maybe you should have a contest to see who can come up with the neatest way to plug the holes.

I recently went through the same thing. There are two self tapping screws in the front of the frame assembly. Remove them and the frame drops off. You are now left with two holes. I took two mildly dome-headed "Christmas tree" fasteners, painted them to match the bumper, and pushed them into the holes. This provides a clean, barely noticeable means of cleaning up those holes.

Good stuff, easy enough, thanks!
