Thanks Eric, I have checked all fuses and all are OK. Any other thoughts?

If you have checked fuses #10 & 13, then you have no alternative but to remove the overhead console, access the Trip computer ad conduct tests.

Do you have a Multimeter?

Trip meter non-function

Thanks 43sqd for feedback. I will have my local mechanic carry out a further test of electrics at computer. Thanks

Is there some form of distance sensor that connects to the trip meter and total distance recorder?? If this exists could this be the problem?? GH

No there is no sensor, everything is self contained in the Trip Computer. It calculates everything by using signals from the ECM and Traction Control Module.

Is the display completely dead?

If not, state which features work and which do not.

There are NO features or information displayed in the trip/total distance panel on the dash. The panel does not light up. Thanks for your input so far. If no display at all what might be the cause and the action required? I plan to see my mechanic in the morning (it is 10.55pm Jan 7 here now). Cheers GH

It has to be a power (fuses) or ground issue, but that can only be checked at the computer itself.
