ML 350, 2003 Check Engine light on with blinking low fuel light.

The check engine light just came on with the low fuel light blinking. Still 1/2 tank of fuel. Please help

Reading the codes that are stored for the Check Eng. Light will probably reveal code P0460 which is Fuel Too Low.

It's probably a partially clogged fuel filter which is making the electronics believe it is really low on fuel, or a faulty fuel pump float.

Have the codes read regardless, it could also be a misfire .

This could also be a bad seal on the gas tank cap.

Next tank of gas, make sure you get the cap and good twist and hear the clicks.

+1 the flashing light is to tell you the cap is not on correctly.
