How to replace 99 ML320 interior rear view mirror

99 ML320 interior auto dim rear view mirror self destructed. I brought a non-auto dim one from dealer. Now I realize that I don't know how to replace it. I can't even get the existing one out from windshield.

Can anyone share his experience?

Does this forum have existing DIY file for this task?

Thanks in advance,

I would like to know what is the OEM brand and part No. stamped on the original autodimming mirror in 1999 ML320? It appears that my mirror developed "air bubble" on top edge that could be pushed side to side and bothers me whenever I have to look into it. I don't see Mercedes emblem on it, maybe previous owner already replaced it with aftermarket autodimming unit.
Thanks in advance for help.

The early mirrors were produced and supplied to M/B by a company named Donnelly.

I have one in BLACK-Auto Dimming for $50.

my black auto-dimming mirror is all foggy and corroded.. can I just replace the glass somehow? 43sqd got any more around? Can I use a later model like from a 2003 or do they mount differently?

As you can see they are totally different mirrors and mountings. Your mirror should be a two wire set-up. I can check tomorrow and see if one is available.
