Lightbulb Output Pictures: Acura TSX Retrofit into W163 Aftermarket Headlights.

AS Requested, some output pics from the Aftermarket headlights compared to TSX Retrofit Projectors into the Aftermarket headlights.

OK, here are output pictures from ONE headlight, as my car as previously mentioned was in accident and I'm currently rebuilding it. Now, You will notice that in one picture both headlights are on, but i unplugged the driver side bulb because the projector has no mount, therefore blinding all oncoming drivers. Furthermore, the output far supersedes AM projectors and Halogen reflectors--even with only ONE. The quality of the output is hampered by the crappy iPhone3G cam quality- I will get more pics later. Anyways, the point of upgrading the projector is the WIDE, EVEN spread of light, and more usable light as a result.
--and i unplugged the halos. I thought they looked cheesy.

AFTERMARKET
Original A/M Projectors with Halogen, and Halo on

Original A/M Projectors 4300k with Hella MicroDE Fogs 6000k at base

OG A/M, only DRLs and Fogs on

OG A/M Output, Notice uneven spread and hollow beam quality

TSX Retrofit

Now, admittedly, the beam is a bit high, it was adjusted and lowered since:
TSX Retrofit Output, Notice, THICK WIDE BEAM. Honestly, you can see the entire width of a 5-6 lane highway.

Original Greenwall

The following are pictures taken after the accident, the output would be thicker but the beam is from only one headlight.
Not really visible in the pics is the blue flicker mod. It adds a thick layer of blue above the cutoff line. Furthermore, when seen from a distance oncoming, the color flickers from blue/purple/yellow/reddish/etc..ie the full spectrum, QUITE a sight!

White Shed (Note the SHARP cutoff)

Apartment walls, about 100ft--Very wide spread, even from one BEAM.

These beam shots were from my accident, bumperless, driverside headlight glass missing ML320

Hope this helped.
As far as a DIY Write up, When i purchase the replacement headlights, I will do it, i don't know when that will be, but hopefully soon. I'm a college student with currently no income lol.

its winter and its raining... i need to upgrade my headlights badly... I know you said the write up would come later but can you give any details? I have a 99 ml430 and think it seems that halogen projectors with tsx or similar retrofit seems perfect. My last car was a 2007 bmw and it had bi-xenons and they were so nice. Right now it seems like the lights are practically off and i even upgraded the bulbs. What headlights did you buy and then what parts did you need for the retrofit?

Sorry, i'm a broke college student, i still haven't ordered the lights yet lol.

A white wall/garage door to test the output is recommended.

There are two ways to go about it:
Ingredients: Oven, something to pry the headlights open, seal-all and silicon
Oven bake the headlights and then pry them open (you'll need seal-all and silicon to reseal it) < It's easier to adjust and position projectors this way...

or

My way lol, the Hard way:
Ingredients: elbow grease and determination
Pop open the plastic cover for the bulbs, and if you have small hands or a wrench with an adjustable neck, unscrew the 4 or 5 nuts that hold the old projector in place. However, i had trouble screwing one back in because it was deep in a corner-- it did not affect the stability of the installation.

I got my lights from ebay. Just type in W163 Headlights, halo projector if you like.
Hope i helped.

your lights are too high.
At a 1/4 mile distance they should be below the trunk line of the car in front of you.

I noted this, and they were since adjusted, but now i have no lights anyway...when i do them over i'll be sure to get it right the first time. Thank you

BY THE WAY: Does anyone have an extra driver's side taillight they wanna get rid of? I'm finally going on break in 2 weeks so i can start working on my car.

Hello Slayblack,

I wondered where you had disappeared to; now I know what you've been up to!

NICE pictures!

I want the TSX projectors (if only for the beautiful spectrum of colours when in operation).
