Need some advice on a couple of issues I am having with my 2000 ML 320:
1. The aux fan fuse is blown, how hard is this to replace, can I fix it on my own (i am a novice)?
2. My engine has a rough idle and makes a loud click noise when the hood is up. Idle is not bad when in neutral. Somewhat worse when the a/c is on.
I just got it back from the shop for having an engine sensor fixed, the dealership claimed that may fix the idle problem (big suprise, it didnt). The dealer also said it may be my choice of fuel. Anyway, would a fuel additive help or an injection cleaner or gumout products? Thanks for any help on these issues. I appreciate it.
Thanks for the reply. I only have put prem gas in my ml. They did not mention specifically which engine sensor I had replaced. It died on me and would not turn over to fully start.

Novice or not, it shouldn't be too difficult to locate where the clicking noise is coming from. Take a photo of it and post it so we can help you.
As for the position sensor, they probably replaced the Throttle Positon sensor, but again, novice or not, you didn't even ask to be shown what part was replaced? Look on your bill and see what the part number was replaced.
It was the crank sensor. 003-153-28-28. You are right I should have gone back to the dealer that day but I let work get in the way. Thanks for the help.
