Unhappy 00 ML430 Air Bag Light

Here is what I am told by my wife. "The air bag light will flash on after about ten minutes of driving, it flashes about 10 times pauses for a few seconds and stays illuminated for about 20 seconds. Then it repeats the process.

Does anyone out there have a suggestion on where I should start?

Thank You

Flashing SRS light indicates serious malfunction like power supply. Some electronic devices placed on right seat will interfere with baby smart seat transmitter.

You will have to take it to someone that can read SRS codes and look at live data.

It seem to me that the questions you should be asking are:

Did your wife place any electronic device (laptop maybe?) on the seat and/or,

Is your battery/alternator/charging system operating as they should?

I had a chance to drive for an hour today and here is what I observed. The SRS light will illuminate sporadically on for a few seconds and off for a short period of time. No set pattern. I did have to recharge the battery a few weeks ago; it was really dead. No there were no electric devices in on the seat when I drove.

Is there a way to read the codes at my level? I know on most US autos there is a system in place to manipulate the key and read a code. (OBC) Thanks

So it needs to go to the dealer? Does an auto parts store sell a system that will read codes on my auto?
