Just wondering. What is the black box with square "intake" openings under the driver's seat? I bought a 99 ML320 and have everything else figured out. Thanks.

Let me ask you this... Do you have BOSE system option on your 99 ML. If you have.. That black box under your seat is the BASS speaker for that system, turn on your radio and turn up the volume then place your hand to the square opening and you will feel the air coming out. It was illustrated on the brochure. Try it.

Jim, thanks. Yes, I've got the BOSE system. I'll turn it up and look forward to a vibrating seat. An added thrill I didn't count on.

Yup, I enjoy the Bose system, especially the depth of bass. I get very good AM & FM reception, but can't figure out where they hid the antenna.
