Post ML320 Warning Lights ?

Hi,

I have a ML320 2002. I've noticed on the dashboard there are 2 warning lights, BAS/ESP and CHECK ENGINE, before i also had one for OIL CHANGE but that has been done and the light is off, but the other 2 no.
I was wondering if i should take the car to my mechanic or dealer so they can scan the car with the computer and tell me what else is wrong, should i and how much would that cost ???

Thanks,

J.

you could goto your local pep boys/autozone/etc and pick up a ODB II reader and look the code up yourself. it depends how technical you are. but the problem looks like there might be something wrong with your stability/brake assist. i would advise that you make that a high priority on your list.

Of course! I don't see why you wouldn't want to get it checked out. Either buy a scanner or go to the dealer. I don't really see what other options you have.

There's no cheap way to ignore a problem.

Hi All,
Thanks for all the tips.
My ML320 got all fixed. The 2 front brakes were almost gone so i did replaced them asap.
And the steering wheel was quite loose going to the right so thats also fixed.
The oil change was also done so im quite set for safe drive
I have this car for 2 years how long do they last with a proper mainteance ???

Cheers !

Benzml320, what part did you replace to fix BAS/ESP light?
How did the dealer fix "loose" steering? If you look at the dealer receipt, you may find the answers to these questions...

pcy,

for BAS/ESP the 2 front brakes were replaced...
i did not go to dealer, i usually go to my private mechanic since i find dealers too expensive and most of the time they rip you off...

BanzMl320j, I didn't know that BAS/ESP lights would be gone by replacing brake pads.
Or did you mean to type "brake pads light"? If so, that makes sense.

To answer your other question (above)...
These trucks can go well above 200K miles if properly maintained.
