Unhappy ML320/163 SRS light reset - is there a non-dealer choice?

I did some door repairs recently and started my 2001 ML320 while the door panels were off (this tripped the SRS light).

Is there a way to reset this myself and avoid the dealer$hip?

Hello km7648,
Did you get a workaround on the SRS light ON? - I'm exactly in the same situation as you.

Yes there is, but you will have to find a repair shop that has a professional grade scanner, like Snap-On, Genisys or MAC, etc.. Any large shop will have one.

Third party shops can do it. Also a lot of body shops can do it because they have to reset
it after the crash damage is fixed.

Nah, I had to return to the dealer. It was a good experience as they reset the light pretty quickly and for a reasonable price.

Thank you to all for the info. I'm going find out a indy shop locally to do this for me. If anyone knows of a shop in Miami area, please let me know.
Thanks
