Venting:
I only work 5 miles away from home. A 20min bike ride gets me to work and another 20min get me home. My Truck sits in a parking shed gathering pollen as I do not want to drive it du to high gas prices in Bay Area California. I want to enjoy driving my Truck and not worry about how much gas I'm burning during a 10mile, to and from work commute.
Solution:
So I am enduring a 4 day a week bike ride so that I can enjoy driving my truck on the weekends w/ the family guilt free of burning gas.
Afirmation:
Is there anyone else out there sacrificing, not driving their ML, just to save on gas? Or should I go to the nearest MBZ doctor, nut it up and just drive the TRUCK!
WHAAAAA!!!!

I drive about 10 miles per day. When else would I get to use my truck? Last time I did the math, we're only talking about roughly 25 cents per mile in gas costs.

Only you know how deep your pocket is, but riding a bike to work is good for your health and on your pocket. I live 6.5 miles from my office and my company buys me gas, but I still drive my original 1995 Nissan Quest with 205,000 miles on the clock to work.
From Monday to Friday the ML and the Swede is in the garage for the wife to drive 2 miles to the market.
My reason for not running the ML everyday is just because it has Sirius and I prefer XM in the Quest. Yes... I know... but hey.

Hey Mateo320,
I DO empathise
But if you think that's bad, try owning a big thirsty V8 like the one in my ML55
Some days, I swear I see my gauge move north as I accelerate!
even a 430 eats more than your 320, but what can i say i gotta pay up. :P the only time i drive is either to get merchandise for my stores, take my bro to school (which i dont have to anymore ) or when i go every other week to a car meet. i end up filling up say, once every two weeks. now its going to be like one fill up every 3 weeks

My commute is 13 miles one way, and I get consistently 17-18mpg with my ML350. At $4.80/gallon for Chevron premium, I continue to drive to work. Costs me about $3.50 each way, which I'm okay with.

i pedal my "1986 Miyata 1000" the 11 km to work through the woods everyday except if have to do errands. I laugh at the fools crawling along the block highway as I cross over the overpast. Last year i did 116 round trips to work (and this is ottawa - 6 months of winter - you do the math how many days I missed). Saab 9-3, ML320 and BWM R11RT all site at home. Know what? the pedal back and forth is the best part of my day! (you might try it!) cheers.
