Red face

The Monroe lifetime warranty was something I was not aware of. When the Bilstein's I got went out almost immediately I:

(1) Could not get any type of response from the vendor I bought them from (EBAY seller).

(2) Could not get any help from Bilstein as they were purchased from an unauthorized seller.

It cost me the price of the Bilsteins, plus the price of the Monroes, plus two labor invoices to get it right.

I have always used KONIs in the past on my Porsches and BMWs w/ Eibach springs. I really like the feel and w/ the yellows there is adjustablility. I looked but could not find any for the ML application or I would have never known about the value and ride of the Monroes. I like the Monroes well enough that I just took my 00 Durango in for a set of 4, new tires, and an alignment. VERY BIG IMPROVEMENT.

One other thing off topic. When your OE muffler goes out look into using a Flowmaster Camaro / Firebird model 42583 as a replacment. 3" in / (2) 2.5" out. You can weld the stock tips back on and use a standard 2 into 1 collector from the resonator back. Works great, fits great, sounds really great, it's cheap. Nice low rumble at idle and when you are getting into it Howls like a GM small block. You also get 47MPG in an ML55 (obviously kidding, you have to go to JC Whitney for products that do that).
