I love doing it to mustang GTs. They can't get me off the starting line and for one poor fellow, we were doing ~105+ before he passed me. He slowed down to come back and give me a thumbs up. What a pleasant surprise I gave him!
well, you are very lucky. In the states they are on your speed likely crazy on the highway. I'll probably get a laser jammer to be almost totally safe
Most of the roads here are so uneven and pot-holed that there really is no need for police or speed trap deterrents - The state of the bloody roads are enough to deter anyone from exceeding 40mph

I'm sure you've guessed that it's a radar detector.

And really good one. I wonder if somebody have direct comparison to Passports?
Valentine One will pick up the waves bounced of other cars. Meaning even if the cop hides behind the overpass 1/2 mile away, the waves bouncing of the cars in front will activate the alarm.
However cops have new toys like we do. The trigger activated radars, that had been used in the city traffic in the past, got some upgrades and are used by Highway Patrol lately. Had close encounter when cop in sport car with stealth light bar was hiding behind CENTER DIVIDER WALL and was shooting only on suspected cars. Would I not tow a trailer at lower speed at the time, I would be nailed
check our guys or radar.com or something like that or go to radardetectors.com or net. pretty good forum
the only thing that the v1 will not make you safe with is laser and instant on. instant on is a scary mofo. i got hit with it in pa:
i started to record 20 seconds later, but its still the same thing once they hit you, full blast. YouTube - Instant On Ka I78 Before Exit 67 PA Valentine V1

Wow, where does CHP use sports cars in California? Sounds like something to watch for. I use a Escort Passport 7500 only on long trips, so far no problems.

I think there is some defense to laser and instant. I had at least 3 incidents in last few years, when a cop car come from around the corner with radar on, while I was making about 25 above the limit. I smacked the brakes pretty hard (not panic) and had an impression that drastically changing speed is fooling the radar. Those guys never stop me. They had the classic radars, so question is how much better is the laser.

They have few, I think Camaro. One I usually spot on I=5 about 150 miles So of San Fransisco.
There is one in East Bay, but it is coming and disappearing for months, so I don't know what is the deal. But I tell you, they guy like to park that toy between the split in divider walls near the 680 and 4 junction. I have train eye for strange cars, but the light bar blends with the wall and that is all you can see, till you are about 50' away.
Than once I passed him in my flatbed when he just spotted someone. The cop was just getting inside the car. Passed me about 9 seconds later, when I was making 65
