I have trailer hitch (not MB) on my 2000 ML430, but no wiring for trailer lights. I know the MB hitch kit comes with the wiring, and was told I couldn't order just the wiring harness. I also found out that the MB wiring just plugs into the truck's wiring harness somewhere in back.
My questions are:
1. Does the MB harness that comes with the hitch have a power converter built in?
2. Where does the MB wiring harness plug into the truck's wiring harness?
I planned on wiring up a standard 4 flat trailer harnss at the existing plugin on the truck, but then I thought about the converter. I still plan on doing this, but I need to know if I need a power converter.
