Thanks fabbrisd1. I had just noticed that these have been failing for a lot of the members here. I think if it gets reported enough to NHTSA, they have to issue a recall.
Please remember that you are talking about a nearly 10 year old truck needing the steering rack replacement.
If we are talking about the power steering connector/hose recall, then it's a whole different story. MB can't seem to be able to figure out how to get that right. Even the modified connectors seem to be failing.
Thanks pcy. I have owned many vehicles and NEVER had to replace something like this. I had a 1995 Chevy ZR2 S-10 that I went to hell and back in 190,000 miles and did not have to replace something like this. Just bad luck I guess. The ML will be going in tomorrow to start her surgery. lol Hopefully nothing else will come up.
