yup its the same motor. Im guessing the guys just made their own name for the part. I just bought mine the other day and am planning on doing the job myself. I will be video taping the process so others can see the steps needed to do so. I dont plan on taking the whole dash off only the center where the radio goes.
here is the part you need..

In Madsleg's photos the arrow pointing to #2 is the Blend Air Motor (Air Mix Motor). The Fresh Air Circ. motor is not even in the photo since it is all the way to the right of the dash.
All the actuator motors in the A/C-Heater system are not all the same. Everyone has its' own part number and is VIN specific. So if you are going to do the job yourself, get the motor from the dealer, who will supply you with the correct one.

I thought this was not possible from the radio console, I thought you had to go MADSLEG's route, VIA the Glove box and SRS bag to get to the motor.
Is MADSLEG's (Glove box0-SRS) motor the one I should be changing, or is it Ron's fix for the Air blend motor (Radio console) the one that I should be looking at?
AGAIN
there is TWO motors- TWO
one behing your radio and another one kinda behind passenger airbag
I had to replce one behind p. airbag !!!
search for pics if you want

Air blend door is the one responsible for mixing hot and cold air. It is visible through the radio hole, for you to check it. But there is not enough space to do the repair. Therefore you will also remove the center console. 43sqd posted the PDF instructions for that. Madsleg did the same repair after removing the airbag and glovebox compartment.

Do you have that saved somewhere and always copy and paste it? I must have seen it 20 times already
Rainman, I wish you would all let us know what year and model ML you have. If you own a 1998-2001 then your motor looks like #53. If you own a 2002 and above then it looks like #54 , but both motors are in the same exact position; they only look different.
