anti roll bar/torsion bar

on my 1999 ml 320 auto the anti roll bar can move side ways, by hand when i crawl underneath and fisicaly move it 1/4 inch with minimal effort
it`s only done 70000 miles is something wrong or is this normal

If there is side to side play the end bushings have to be replaced (#19 in diagram). #19 includes the bracket and bushing for $80 per side, but you can buy the bushing alone #163 320 00 44 for $48 per side.

Then after you replace the end bushings then check for play in bushings #18. Those bushings are only sold as a kit for $94 per side. Pricey suckers aren't they.

does any one know were i can buy these bushes from without going to the stealer. i`ve searched the net but no luck. and is any uprated ones.

autohausazDOTcom has the "sway bar bushing kit" for $22.62 (kit includes 4 rubber mounting bushings) - Part # 1633200044. Manufacturer name is listed as "OEM/Meyle". I am not sure whether these are of same quality as the ones available thru the MB dealer.
