Vin decoding question

What does this mean?

840 elimination of all-wheel drive 4 x 2 (for cross-country vehicles only)
dark tinted glass (с 01.10.1994)

I ran my VIN and I got the above as a code. Does that mean the vehicle does not have AWD? It has a low range button and the dealer I bought it from said it had AWD.

I was thinking maybe it eliminated a 4x2 setting and the ML350 ONLY has AWD. I had a Jeep that had AWD and an option to go to 4x2.

EDIT:I actually found another thread that said all the ML350s have this code.

The reference to all wheel drive is obsolete. 840 code currently means your vehicle has tinted glass.

ALL ML's are AWD. Even I, in my earlier ownership years, thought they made a 2 wheel version but they didn't.

Thanks for the replies.

This Mercedes ownership thing is new to me. The only Mercedes I had before this is my Unimog, and other than the Emblem on the front of the grill the Unimog is not like anything else Mercedes makes, or any other manufacturer for that matter.
